A sight test is a vital and very important health check for your eyes.
The test will show if you need glasses for the first time or need a change to your current prescription. The test could also pick up any early signs of eye conditions before you are aware of any symptoms. It is important to undertake regular tests if you have Diabetes, Macular degeneration or Glaucoma.
It is recommended that adults are tested every two years unless advised otherwise by an Optician. Over 70's, under 16's and adults with some medical conditions are advised to be tested more frequently (usually annually).
The test involves checking the level of vision and whether spectacles would be needed to correct your sight. The eyes and surrounding area will also be examined for signs of injury, disease or abnormality. All of the findings will be explained to you and if you require spectacles you will then be seen by the Dispensing Optician or optical advisor. You will be given professional advice in frame and lens selection.

Regular eye examinations for children are especially important as their vision can change quite quickly.
Research suggests that up to 1 million children in the U.K. currently have an undetected vision problem.
Good eyesight is crucial for a child's development as 80% of a child's learning occurs visually. Poor vision could mean that some children are not developing to their full potential at school and socially.
Annual eye examinations are advisable for all children and are offered free under the NHS.
Here at Optique Boutique we encourage children to visit us from an early age, we could then detect any visual problems well before a child is able to read!
We stock a wide and varied range of frames especially suited to children's faces. The latest designs give an attractive, fashionable look so children feel confident and comfortable in their new glasses.

In return for our customers loyalty, we have introduced a Recommend a Friend scheme. To show how much we appreciate your ongoing support, we will reward you with a £10 credit for every friend you recommend.
Once your friend has become a new customer at Optique Boutique then the £10 credit will be added to your record card. This can be used towards your next purchase, whether that be contact lenses, glasses or sunglasses.
All your friend needs to do is mention your name when they make their spectacle purchase, and we will do the rest.
Don't forget, the more people you recommend, the more £10 credits you receive!

Optique Boutique are proud to support the Vision Aid Overseas project by being a collection point for any old, unwanted spectacles. The donated spectacles are sent to third world countries where they given to people who would not have had the luxury of a pair of spectacles.

"Three generations of our family have used this practice for more than thirty years. The standards of professionalism and care have never varied. We particularly appreciate the choice of designer frames that are made available, as well as the more affordable frames for the older generation "
